APOD: 2023 February 23 Arp 78: Peculiar Galaxy in Aries

Peculiar spiral galaxy Arp 78 is found within the boundaries of the head strong constellation Aries. Some 100 million light-years beyond the stars and nebulae of our Milky Way galaxy, the island universe is an enormous 200,000 light-years across.

Globular Cluster M22 from CFHT

Stars orbit the center of the cluster, and the cluster orbits the center of our Galaxy. So far, about 140 globular clusters are known to exist in a roughly spherical halo around the Galactic center.

IC 410 and NGC 1893

Blue light from the star rho Ophiuchi and nearby stars reflects more efficiently off this portion of the nebula than red light.
