The Delegation of the People's Government of Sichuan Province of China (PRC) held a meeting with representatives of the universities and the government of Samara Region at the premises of Samara State Aerospace University (SSAU).
The official Chinese delegation consisted of the representatives of the People's Government of Sichuan Province and the largest industrial enterprises: Sichuan Energy Industry Investment Group Co. Ltd, corporation “Xin Li Guangyuan”, Chengdu Engineering Corporation “Hsinchu”.
The directions and fields of cooperation between the two regions, including the question of cooperation in education sector, were discussed during the meeting. Chinese colleagues propose cooperation in both humanitarian and economic sphere.
In particular, in the sphere of education, the representatives of the third largest province of China suggest the development of exchange student programs between universities of Samara and Sichuan province, invitation of the Samara officials for training in Sichuan Province and training of the officials of Sichuan province in Samara region, as well as providing scholarships for training in high schools of the province for Samara students.
“We actively encourage our exchange programs for students and teachers. Due to the government's budget 2300 teachers attended the foreign training last year. 8,000 students from hundred countries around the world and from Russia as well study in our universities. We are ready to establish scholarships for Samara students to study on Bachelor’s and Master's program with a degree in “Chinese language”, - underlined Mrs. Su Ping, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Department of Education of the People's Government of Sichuan Province.

Samara University (joined SSAU and SSU) signed cooperation agreements with 10 Chinese universities of Anhui Province (Anhui University of Technology, Anhui Normal University, Anhui University), Beijing (Beihang University, Beijing Polytechnic University), Jiangxi Province (Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Xinyu University), Shensi Province (Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an international University), Heilongjiang Province (Harbin Institute of Technology).
Within the framework of these agreements Chinese Centre, which is the organizer of the Chinese language courses, works in Samara University and conducts the Russian-Chinese cultural events. Joint laboratories “Space Cable Systems” and “Methods and Tools for Space Research” were organized and joint scientific research was carried out within the framework of the interstate project “Volga-Yangtze”.
The students from China also take part in the youth forum of Volga federal district “iVolga”, and the students of Samara University participate in the Chinese-Russian youth forum “Volga-Yangtze”.
