24.02.2015, 16:57

Webometrics presented an updated version of the world ranking of universities, which assesses the presence of universities in the Internet.

Samara State Aerospace University has significantly improved its positions both in domestic and in global lists.

Among 22 thousand universities ranged by Webometrics experts, SSAU occupies the 38th place among Russian universities, and the 2406th position in the overall rankings.

Just in one year the Aerospace University rose immediately on 1379 points in the global rating and on 48 in the Russian part of the list.

According to Webometrics experts, SSAU managed to improve indicators on a number of key criteria, including the site citation level and the number of inbound links to the University domain.

For reference
SSAU is among the 15 leading Russian universities that received government support to improve competitiveness and promote the top 100 international rankings. Samara State Aerospace University was able to significantly improve its position during the program implementation.

In the summer of 2014 SSAU was included in the rating QS Top Universities "BRICS 2014" for the first time. The University joined the group of universities that took the 151-200 lines in the rating.
In 2014, SSAU rose in the national rating of Russian universities from the 30th to the 23th line. In addition, Samara State Aerospace University entered the top twenty of Russian universities in demand for graduates by employers.

The international rating Webometrics is held since 2004. It is prepared by the company Cybermetrics Lab, a member of the Centro de Información y Documentación of the Higher Council for Scientific Research of Spain. The rating assesses the universities exposure in the Internet space and is published twice a year.

The criteria for the universities sites analysis are in particular the number of inbound links and referring sites credibility, the number of indexed pages and citation index. In this case, the rating drafters do not evaluate the site design and do not account the site traffic.
