SSAU scientists will help Swiss jewellers

Vladimir Glushchenkov, SSAU professor and the Head of the Research Laboratory of Advanced Technological Processes of Plastic Deformation held a seminar on magnetic pulse technology and their scope in the Swiss city of Neuchatel. 
 
The seminar was held in the Swiss-Russian Industrial Business Club. Sergey Ganin, leader of the club opened the seminar.
 
"I note would like to note the high interest - shared Vladimir Glushchenkov. – It was attended by representatives of universities and industry of France, Switzerland and Germany. I was talking about our technologies during four hours. And then we discussed the possibility of cooperation another three hours”. 
 
So, Swiss jewellers showed their interest in new technologies. The Representative of the company “Rich” is confident that Samara magnetic pulse installations may provide better quality work with gold and platinum, clamp precious and semiprecious stones in jewellery more carefully.
Swiss Welding Institute suggested Samara colleagues to work on the themes of scientific research funded by the European Union.
 
Vladimir Aleksandrovich invited the European Master degree students for study placement in Samara: "Our laboratory is a centre of collective use, stocked with unique equipment: in addition to the actual magnetic pulse installations we have thermal imagers and high-speed video cameras. Master degree students will be able to hold their experiments in Samara and write a part of the graduation work”.
 
The European counterparts were also interested in the proposal to equip their universities with Samara laboratory facilities to carry out research works.
 
For the record
Technology of magneto-pulse treatment of metals (MPTM) created by SSAU allows to make details of complex shapes that can not be obtained by conventional methods.
 
For decades Aerospace University scientists are engaged not only in researches in this direction, but also in production of the relevant industrial equipment. In this direction, the university is working not only with domestic enterprises, but with foreign corporations as well.
 
Thus in the summer 2014 a contract for the supply of appropriate technologies and equipment for Research and Development Centre of the company Alcoa (Pittsburgh, USA) was signed. The  agreement on personnel training for Alcoa Research and Development Centre was also concluded.
