On Monday, August 31 SSAU Rector Evgeniy Shakhmatov within the framework of an extended meeting of the Academic Council presented a report on the results of the university activities in the academic year 2014/2015, as well as outlined the prospects for the university development.
The results of the admission campaign
SSAU admission plan in 2015 is amounted to 1,524 places (in 2014 - 1250 places). As of September 1, 1863 persons are enrolled on full-time and part-time forms of study in the Samara State Aerospace University. Currently acceptance of students at the part-time form of education is in progress.
The average grade of the Unified State Examination of the admitted applicants is significantly increased compared with the previous year. Last year it was 70 points and in 2015 it is 72.94 points.
In 2015, 55 champions or prize-winners of Russian academic competitions are enrolled to SSAU, among them 17 people were accepted without entrance examinations, and 38 people took advantage of the privilege to enrol - 100 points on the corresponding profile subject. In addition, 299 medallists entered SSAU.
Educational activities
In the academic year 2014/2015 students training in SSAU has been conducted on 67 Bachelor’s programs, 45 Specialist’s programs, 29 Master's educational programs and 6 fields of secondary vocational education.
In this academic year, we performed international accreditation of the nine educational programs, developed seven English-language Master's degree programs and two PhD-programs, 10 training programs in collaboration with the leading foreign and domestic universities, eight educational programs in breakthrough areas with high-tech enterprises, six educational programs of double diplomas.
At the end of the summer exam session the total academic performance at the university has been increased and amounted to 80.7% (last year - 78.9%).
As the competitions results, in the academic year 2014-2015 SSAU students received 15 types of scholarships, grants and awards. In general, in the academic year 2014-2015 the students of Samara State Aerospace University received over 26.5 million roubles in the form of material rewards for scientific achievements.
Scientific and research activities
Over the past year the volume of research funding in Samara State Aerospace University has increased significantly. So, in 2014 at the expense of the federal budget, Samara region budget and earmarked funds SSAU fulfilled 94 research, development and technological works with a total cost of 553 million roubles.
The university fulfilled 161 research, development and technological works with a total value of 276 million roubles at the expense of foreign sources, Russian businesses and other sources.
Today SSAU plans to implement two major projects in conjunction with the Advanced Research Foundation: creating a line of small gas turbine engines and development of technologies for creating small spacecraft (in cooperation with the Rocket and Space Centre “Progress”). In addition, on behalf of Dmitriy Rogozin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Chairman of SSAU Supervisory Board, the University is being working on a design office for the youth.
At the conclusion of the report SSAU Rector Yevgeniy Shakhmatov thanked the University staff for the concerted and efficient work. “The support that we have now on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Government of Samara region, says that they believe in us. And we are obliged to justify this confidence in the future”, - said Evgeniy Shakhmatov.
