A meeting of Volga Regional Branch of the Russian Academy of Cosmonautics named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky took place in SSAU on June 26.
 
Representatives of SSAU, "Rocket and Space Centre Progress", JSC "Kuznetsov" and other enterprises and universities discussed the topical issues of the rocket and space industry.
 
Professor Evgeniy Shakhmatov, President of the Volga Regional Branch of the Russian Academy of Cosmonautics named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky and SSAU Rector presented a report on the branch activities. Also, a summary report was presented by Professor Victor Zhuravlev, Head of the Ulyanovsk Branch of the Volga Branch of Russian Academy of Cosmonautics named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky.
 
Chief Engineer Sergey Tyulevin, First Deputy Director General told about current activities, advanced developments and new projects of the Samara Rocket and Space Centre "Progress".
Valeriy Danilchenko, Design Manager of rocket engines of JSC "Kuznetsov" presented the report devoted to the development prospects of the company.
 
Professor Igor Belokonov, Head of the Inter-University Department of Space Research spoke about the development program of nanosatellite technologies within Samara aerospace cluster.
 
Also at the event the documents of members of the Russian Academy of Cosmonautics named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky were handed over to two SSAU professors - Yuriy Zabolotniy and Sergey Ishkov and First Deputy Director General for Economics and Finance of JSC "Rocket and Space Centre Progress" Konstantin Naumov. Nikolay Stratilatov, Chief Designer and Head of the Department of "Rocket and Space Centre Progress" became a full member of the Russian Academy of Cosmonautics named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky.
