SSAU students have met with the leader of the country in the space-launch complex 'Vostochniy'

On September 2, 2014 Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, has become acquainted with work progress of the space-launch complex “Vostochniy” in Amur Region. Inspection of the building site began with preparation complex for rocket and space units. Afterwards the President spoke with the students, who participated in the construction works. There also were representatives of Samara State Aerospace University students from the construction brigade “Legenda” among the members of the meeting.
“It was planned that the Head of construction will meet Vladimir Putin and after that will introduce each brigade by turn, - compares his notes Sergey Makarov, the Head of SSAU students’ brigade, from the meeting with the President of the Russian Federation. – But it happened otherwise. Vladimir Putin immediately went to the centre and called us to himself. He congratulated everyone with finishing of the construction, praised us for coming and finding the ability to earn money working at the space centre - in the place of application of our forces into the future. He also said that he hopes for our return here in the capacity of professionals to launch the rockets to Mars and the Moon from “Vostochniy”.
And the previous day, on September 1, SSAU students met with Dmitriy Rogozin, Deputy Prime-Minister of Government of the Russian Federation. “He congratulated everyone with the beginning of the new academic year and the end of the students building. Then he asked: where are the students from Samara? I introduced myself. Dmitriy Olegovich told how the Governor asked him to become the Head of SSAU Board of Regents and he agreed. I congratulated him with this decision and he congratulated us, "- said Sergey Makarov.
It is to be recalled that construction project of the space-launch complex “Vostochniy” began in 2008. Completion of construction of the space-launch complex is planned for July 2015, as well as the first launching of a rocket vehicle is planned for the same 2015. It is expected that the first rocket to be launched from the space-launch complex “Vostochniy” will be “Soyuz-2.1a” with removal block “Volga”, made by Samara “Central Assembly and Design Engineering Bureau “Progress”. A small spacecraft “Aist-2” will be a part of the payload. Now it is created by the engineers of Samara enterprise and SSAU students. It will also be accompanied by another educational satellite- "Lomonosov".
For reference. The space-launch complex “Vostochniy” is being built close to the settlement Uglegorsk in Amur Region. The space-launch complex will will include two launching complexes, technical complex, landing ground, facilities for prelaunch activity of astronauts, oxygen-nitrogen plant and hydrogen peroxide preparation plant, storage and transportation complex for rocket fuel components, 115 km of highways and 125 km of railways as well as other constructions.
In total, over 7.000 workers and about 500 students from 15 regions of Russia take part in construction of the unique, the most modern and high-tech space-launch complex of the country.
