Federal Space Agency of the Russian Federation (ROSCOSMOS) announces competition of innovative research works

Federal Space Agency with the support of Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) announces competition of innovative research works “Russia in Space: From Vision to Reality” on a topic “Application of Space Activity Results in Social and Economic Sphere” in the following areas:
- Application of modern information technologies in design and creation of space systems and complexes;
- Implementation of innovative and industry solutions based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) in favour of the state, municipal and commercial customers for oil and gas industry, mining industry, agricultural complex, transport complex, and others;
- Application of information technology in remote sensor systems for earth sounding during monitoring of dangerous endogenic geological processes within the territory of Russia;
- Development of innovative solutions and technologies for implementation into created infrastructure of the future space base “Vostok”;
- Innovative approach and modern solutions for the preparation and implementation of programs of research and development near-by planets of the Solar System.

The aim of this competition is arrangement of conditions for discovery and implementation of abilities of the students from Russian universities, young specialists and scientists, support and encourage of their scientific activities, involvement in the innovation sphere by creating a competitive environment, preservation and restoration of Russia's intellectual potential in the sphere of peaceful space exploration, further development of science and practice integration.

Competition Committee consisting of representatives of management of ROSCOSMOS and RAS will be formed to select the best work. Results of the competition shall be announced on or prior to November 10, 2014. The works for competition are accepted from March 17 to October 1, 2014.
