Aerobatics team "Strizhi" ("Swifts") is a member of the 237-th Proskurov Guards Aircraft Demonstration Centre rewarded with the Red Banner, Kutuzov and Alexander Nevsky Orders named after three-times Hero of the Soviet Union Air Force Marshal I.N.Kozhedub.
The squadron first appeared under its present name "Strizhi" on the 6-th of May of 1991. Since then this day is annually celebrated as the Birthday of the team.
In 1952 first in the aviation history the pilots of the Centre performed a group counter jet fighters aerobatics. During the following years there had been mastered the individual and group aerobatics of the Mig-17, Mig-19, Mig-21, Mig-23 and Mig-29 jets.
For all the following time "Strizhi" have been flying on the fighters Mig-29, which are considered, by right, the best 'light fighters' in the world.
The aerobatics team visited many countries of the world where it demonstrated the highest airmanship and advanced achievments of the Russian aircraft-building.

The team is founded on 05/04/91 on the base of the 1-st squadron of SU-27 fighters. First "Russkiye Vityazi" demonstrated their aerobatics skill in public in England in September of 1991. Since then the team is a constant member of all Russian and most foreign air salons.
"Russkiye Vityazi" regularly perform their aerobatics flights in the sky of Russia and beyond it's borders. Everywhere the performances of "Russkiye Vityazi" are hailed with a storm of applause by the spectators.
"Russkiye Vityazi" is the unique aerobatics team, the only in the world performing the group aerobatics of the planes of the category 'heavy fighter'.
Aerobatics team "Rus" ("Russia") - Under this symbolic and proud name there performs its flights a synchronous aerobatics team of Viasemskiy Aviaclub "ROSTO". As far back as 1941 the special assignment regiment of fighters was based in the airport Viazma-Dvoevka. It is namely that very place the aerobatics team "Rus" is derived from.
In 1987 in accordance with the resolution of the government it was resolved to form an aerobatics team for the participation in Tushino Air Parade. At the air show in Tushino the team "Rus" made its debut.
The aerobatics team "Rus" performs its maneuvers with the fighters L-39 "Albatross" in number of 9 planes.
The team "Rus" is always a welcome guest at all Russian and international air salons and other aviation arrangements.
