Eclipse at Moonrise
11.10.2014

The Great Turkey Nebula
26.11.2020
Surprisingly reminiscent of The Great Nebula in Orion, The Great Turkey Nebula spans this creative field of view. Of course if it were the Orion Nebula it would be our closest large stellar nursery, found at the edge of a large molecular cloud a mere 1,500 light-years away.
Comet Pons-Brooks at Night

In dark evening skies over June Lake, northern hemisphere, planet Earth, Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks stood just above the western horizon on March 30. Venus is currently falling out of the western evening sky. But telescopic images have also revealed its dramatic phases.
Four Years of Saturn
6.04.2007
Saturn and its magnificent ring system can offer even casual astronomers the most memorable of telescopic sights. This month, bright planet Saturn rises in evening skies, its rings oriented nearly edge-on when viewed from planet Earth. And in the early morning hours on July 6, it posed very briefly with the International Space Station when viewed from a location in Federal Way, Washington, USA.

Low on the western horizon after sunset, a slender crescent Moon and wandering planet Mercury join the lights of Menton and Monaco along the French Riviera. Astronomer Vincent Jacques took advantage of this gorgeous...
Venus and Jupiter on the Horizon
26.11.2019
What are those two bright objects on the horizon? Venus and Jupiter. The two brightest planets in the night sky passed very close together -- angularly -- just two days ago. In real space, they were...
