Section of Evolutionary
Morphology was established in 1932 on the basis of former Institute and Museum of Comparative Anatomy. The main objective
of the Section is completion and storage of anatomical specimens of
vertebrates. Unlike other sections of the museum, the collections of the
present Section are not limited to particular taxa, but rather to specific form
of perparation. There are 'wet' preparations, skeletons, and micropreparations
kept in the Section.
The latter's office and storage rooms are located on the ground floor of the museum building (room n. 42) at the end of the building's wing stretching along the Nikitsky lane. When planning to visit the section, please contact its staff by phone 629-39-43.
