Bondarenko A.M. 2006. Fauna of bats of the Kitskansky wood (Moldova, Transdniester Region). ­ Plecotus et al. 9: 18-24. The Kitskansky wood (46є50ґ N, 29є37ґ E) is a narrow, from 0.1 to 1.5 km in width, forest strip running along the lower Dniester. Its square is 21.69 km2. We studied the bat fauna of that wood in 2003-2006. Bats were captured at their foraging sites with a mobile trap (Borissenko 1999) and mist nets, and from the roost places with a hard trap (Kunz 1988). Bats were also recorded using a bat-detector D-200 Pettersson Elektronik AB. 226 bat specimens have been captured. They represented nine species: Myotis daubentonii, M. dasycneme, Pipistrellus pygmaeus, P. pipistrellus, P. nathusii, P. kuhlii, Nyctalus noctula, N. leisleri, Eptesicus serotinus (Table 1). We have found 19 roosts of three bat species (Table 2). The most frequent species is N. noctula, the most widespread are P. pygmaeus and N. noctula (Fig. 1).
