The article critically examines the concepts of "Eastern Europe" and "Central Europe". The boundaries of the concepts as well as their geopolitical connotations are established. The geographical images are evaluated by the author as ruling discourses having serious geopolitical dimension. The geopolitical structure of Eastern Europe and its additional civilizational level is examined. The author proposes to research the possibility of Eastern Europe's alternative geopolitical organization.
