Trade unions form a vital institute of the society, which influences the stability of the political system. It is not only a mean of defending employees' rights, but also a way of coherence between the state and the civil society. Tripartile interaction between the government, business and trade unions is not merely essential for contemporary Russia, but it also needs some serious shifts. Current article contains analysis of the state of the trade unions in today's Russia, perspectives of its further development, and also comparative analysis of trade unionism and its significance in several foreign countries.
