In the book, the materials are published, which were presented on the International conference 'Ecological consequences of biosphere processes in the ecotone zone of Southern Siberia and Central Asia' dedicated to the 40-years anniversary of the Joint Russian-Mongolian Complex Biological Expedition of RAS and MAS. From different methodological positions the features of structure and functioning of ecosystems are examined, the questions of their protection and rational use come into question. The special attention is paid to the processes of transformation and degradation of natural complexes due to anthropogenic influence and climatic changes observed during the last years.
