From 1992 the National Committee of Biologists of Russia is a successor of the Committee of Soviet Biologists established in 1957 and more than 45 years it is affiliated with the Institute of Ecology and Evolution, RAS. Among its main objectives there are assuring the Russian Academy of Sciences' membership in IUBS, promoting international cooperation of Russian scientists in modern biological studies and supporting of their participation in international meetings including the assistance in publishing results of their research in international journals.
