The ecologo-geographical distribution peculiaritis of Russian casebearer (Lepidoptera, Coleophoridae). – Anikin V.V. – Analyzed the zoogeographical distribution of 372 casebearer species from the territory of Russia. In Circumpolar tundra Region inhabit 6 species, in Eurosiberian taiga Region – 111 species, in European nemorose Region – 148 species, in Stenopean nemorose Region – 44 species, in Scythian steppe Region – 248 species, in Sethian desert Region – 88 species. The casebearer fauna of Russia is divided on 9 elementary fauna; whom are corresponding 4 faunistic centre – stenopean, altain-gobian, turanian and anatolian. Every of those centres are characterized as the centres of diversity and/or for speciation. In spite of specific distribution Palaearctic casebearers in the boundaries of Russia (special zoogeograpgy), we can see the fact of principal resemblance in localization presented faunistic centres and for other insect groups: Rhopalocera (De Lattin, 1967), antlion (Krivokhatsky, 1998; Krivokhatsky, Emeljanov, 2000) on the territory of Palaearctic.

Key words: Microlepidoptera, Coleophoridae, special zoogeography, Russia.

Vegetation of boreal part of dry steppes Zavolzhya and its anthropogenic derivants on fallow lands and pastures. – Dikareva T.V., Oparin M.L. – Saratov Zavolgie is agricultural region in Russia. Almost everywhere ploughing up and intensive pasturing in the steppes lead to the soils' deterioration, partial salinization of soils and grounds and to significant reduction of biodiversity of the steppes. Lowering of anthropogenic impact during the last decade caused to life the demutation successions in the vegetation communities. For the territory of the northern tipchak-feather-grass steppes (Festuca valesiaca – Stipa sp.) we detected 4 stages of demutation successions for the fallow-lands after grain-crops and 2 stages – after sowing of Agropyron pectinatum and 5 stages of successions on pastures. All named successions passing through various stages lead to the secondary virgin tipchak-feather-grass communities while the biodiversity increases.

Key words: vegetation, succession, fallow land, pasture, steppe.

Genesis of natural conditions and fundamental trends of contemporary dynamic of animals' natural habitats in the north of Lower Volga region. Report III. Genesis of fauna and flora in quaternary. Pleistocene. – Zavialov E.V., Shlyakhtin G.V., Tabachishin V.G., Makarov V.Z., Berezutskiy M.A., Yakushev N.N. – The issues of genesis of flora and fauna of the north of Lower Volga region in quaternary (pleistocene) were examined. The climate, landscape genesis and fundamental trends of vegetative and animal complexes formation were characterized. Paleontologic data on fossil animals from the north of Lower Volga region and specific territories was summarize.

Key words: genesis, quaternary, pleistocene, flora, fauna, Lower Volga region.

The materials of Yu.F. Sapogenkov about of viviparous lizard Lacerta vivipara Jacquin, 1787 in Kostroma province – Okulova N.M., Kolesova T.M. – The peculiarities of ecology and distribution of Lacerta vivipara Jacquin, 1787 (LV) are discerned by materials of Yu.F. Sapogenkov (1934 – 1976), zoologist from Kostroma State University. He was catch 113 animals in 11 points of Kostroma province in 1967 – 1970. The phenology of LV is typical for northern part of area and approaches to the same in the Perm province. Lizards from Kostroma province are larger and relatively more short-tailed than in the other parts of area. In its populations the adult individuals and among the largest adult the females take a great place. The reproduction is relatively weakly intensive (5.77±0.37 developing eggs for 1 female, n = 26). The death rate of embryos is relatively high: 2.12% from number of developing eggs. In the nutrition the spiders prevail. The mathematical expressions for description of connections «body length – tail length» (for adult individuals) and «the developing eggs number – body length of females» are obtained.

Key words: viviparous lizard, distribution, phenology, geographical variation, breeding, nutrition.

Idealizing object and fundamental notions of the modern ecology (with examples from vegetation ecology). – Rozenberg G.S. – Correlation of notions «community», «ecosystem» and «biogeocenosis» are considered. Procedures of measuring at the system of «foundations» of ecological theory are discussed.

Key words: community, ecosystem, biogeocenosis, measuring.

The functional significance of precipitations and groundwaters in development of cultures of an oak in Northern Ciscaspian lowland. – Sapanov M.K. – The conjugate analysis of seasonal water discharge from different soil layers and formation of biomass in oak trees presented a physiological difference between moisture from precipitations and groundwaters for oak survival.

Some approaches to evaluation of ecological potential of woody vegetation in the Ciscaspian semidesert. – Sizemskaja M.L., Sapanov M.K. – This work deals with the possibility to use a new notion - the ecological potential (EP) – for the evaluation of possibilities of woody plants to exist under conditions of the North Caspian lowland (due to problems of afforestation), among other things, for estimation of their ability to dissipate and occupy new ecological niches. Using the notion EP gives an opportunity for new interpretation of monitoring of biogeocoenosis development and, in particular, allows to forecast the probability of broader propagation of woody plants in corresponding intrazonal conditions of Ciscaspian semidesert.

Key words: woody and shrub vegetation, ecological potential, semidesert, intrazonal conditions.

Increase of stability agrolandscapes to droughts and erosion of soils. – Trofimov I.A., Trofimova L.S. – The increase of stability agrolandscapes to possible climatic changes, for periodically repeating stressful factors of a drought should be carried out a way: 1) of expansion of the areas natural fodder lands and crops of long-term grasses for the account erosioning and erosion danger arable lands, that considerably will reduce power and financial, expenses for an agricultural production, sharply will weaken development of negative processes of erosion, will raise fertility and stability steppe agrolandscapes to droughts; 2) of expansion of the areas forest lands in droughty zones in their natural intrazonal conditions of habitats (on ravines, beams, steppe depressions, sands, coasts of reservoirs). As a whole all these measures should enter a control system and designing adaptive agrolandscapes, directed on maintenance of their optimum structure and the functioning, adequate the structure and functioning of natural zone landscapes.

Key words: steppe agrolandscapes, agrolandscape-ecological approaches, constructioning agrogeosystems handle, stability, erosion, drought.

The degree of interpopulation differences of a Grass-Snake (Natrix natrix) in Nizhneye Povolzhye on the basis of multilateral analysis of folidosis sidns. – Morozenko N.V., Zavialov E.V., Shlakhtin G.V., Yeliseyev D.V., Tabachishina I.E. – Comparative study of folidosis signs of a Grass-Snake from the Nizhneye Povolzhye populations has been carried out with the help of multilateral analysis. The main trends of geographical variability of morphological signs have been elicited. The possibility of folidosis use in the analysis of ecological conditions of territories has been proved.

Key words: Grass-Snake, Natrix natrix, variability, folidosis signs, Nizhneye Povolzhye, Russia.

Information of seasonal and daily cycle of activity, reproduction and food is reported.
