Pixies

The Pixies (Physiological Information eXtraction from ImagE Sequences) project is to develop a user-friendly application dedicated to the analysis of biomedical image series and including sophisticated analysis tools developped within a research lab that has been involved in the analysis of medical image series for almost twenty years. The idea underlying the Pixies project was to use the internet to make the most recent sophisticated medical image analysis tools, including the original method of factor analysis of medical image series, available to the largest medical and research community.

There will be 3 different Pixies versions:

  • Micro Edition is a freeware that allows the user to test the software and solve problems for which sophisticated physiological priors do not have to be introduced.
  • Standard Edition will meet the need of research laboratories, radiologists and physicians who are willing to comprehensively analyze images series (e.g., functional image series) and whose data require advanced analysis tools adapted to specific applications.
  • Developer Edition is meant for investigators willing to include their own processing components in Pixies or who wish to write scripts to repeat automatically processing procedures.
