Supernova 2009hd in M61

Discovered by Berto Monard (South Africa).   This one is a highly reddened type IIP.   For a supernova in a Messier galaxy, this one is not that bright at Mag 16.   It is also fairly close to the sun (not far from Saturn), so observing it is difficult.   We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.   Icon generated from the discovery image.   This supernova is in the Constellation Leo.
