Supernova 2009dd in NGC 4088

image Discovered by Giancarlo Cortini (Italy); Alessandro Dimai and Elisa Londero (CROSS) (Italy).   The brightest SN of the year so far, this one is a young type II.   We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal (which happens to show SN 1991G).  Icon generated from the CROSS discovery image.   This supernova is in the Constellation Ursa Major.
