The Institute of Civilization was founded in June 1997 as a non-profit organisation for scientific, cultural and educational purposes. From the beginning of its activity, the Institute had no funding from state bodies, and is completely self-financing. The Institute of Civilization offers educational services and is unique not only in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania but also to the entire North Caucasus region. From its opening, The Institute of Civilization has been extremely successful.
In the short time since its foundation, the intensive English courses have been an overnight success. These courses enable people of any age to speak English fluently within several months and to have access to free computer classes. To enhance their knowledge of English, students are encouraged to study in similar institutes in Ireland, or to participate in free summer intensive English courses run at universities in England.
