dedicated to the 110th  anniversary of
Alexander Romanovich Luria's birth

The year 2012 marks 110 years of the birth of Alexander Luria (1902-1977). To commemorate the life and scientific achievements of this world-renowned psychologist and the founder of the Russian neuropsychology, Lomonosov Moscow State University, in collaboration with The Burdenko Neurosurgery Institute (where the first Russian neuropsychological laboratory was open) are pleased to announce Moscow International Congress. The Congress will be held in Moscow, from 20 to 22 September, 2012.

During the Congress three conferences are planned:

1. 'A.R. Luria and the development of the world  psychological science'

2. 'A.R. Luria and the modern neuropsychology'

These conferences continue the First and the Second (Moscow, 1997, 2002) and the Third (Belgorod, 2007) international Luria memory conferences.

3.  'Basic and applied aspects of mental recovery after traumatic brain injury: a multidisciplinary approach'

The new one continues the themes of the First (Moscow, 2008) and the Second (Saint-Petersburg, 2010) international conferences 'Mental recovery after traumatic brain injury: a multidisciplinary approach'.

The conferences will include plenary and subject sessions(oral and poster presentations), round table discussions and evening lectures of the leading specialists in psychology, medicine and neuroscience from Russia, Europe and the USA. A competition will be organized between the papers of students, postgraduate students (Ph.D. fellows) and young researchers (under 35 years old). The social program is also planned.

Working languages of the conferences are English and Russian. There will be simultaneous translation during the conferences.

  • If you want to take a part in the competition for students, postgraduate students (Ph.D. fellows) and young researchers (under 35 years old), please, send your abstracts and your application using this e-mail: luria2012young@gmail.com (registration is open from June 1, 2011 to May 31, 2012). The instructions how to make an application are listed below.

Participation in any of the three conferences involves automatic participation in the Congress.

                                                                            

Abstract requirements

  1. The document should be in MS Word format (.doc ONLY)
  2. The abstract must be in typed, single-spaced format using a 12-point Times New Roman. Margins: upper and bottom - 20 мм, left and right - 24 мм.
  3. There should be no pictures, tables or any other graphic data in abstracts.
  4. The abstracts should contain following output data:
    • the name of the paper (on the new line, Times New Roman 12, bold, center alignment, no indent);
    • authors (on the new line, Times New Roman 12, center alignment, no indent);
    • on the next line in the center of the page (Times New Roman 12, italic) - the full name of the organization, department, city and country;
    • on the next line in the center of the page (Times New Roman 12, italic) - e-mail,
    • If there are few authors and they work in the different organizations, there should be superscripts after the initials (1, 2 etc.), which will sign the organizations. The organizations should be listed below under the same numbers. If there is only one author, or the authors work in one organization, there should be no indexes. Also there should not be any dots after the titles.
  5. The text of the abstracts (Times New Roman 12, justified alignment, indent in the beginning of a paragraph - 0.7 cm),
  6. Length limit - 250 words (output data are not included). References to the grants should be issued in the form of footnote,
  7. There should be definite information in the subject of the letter: <The last name and initials of the participant>.  Abstracts for the conference <name of the conference> ( 'A.R. Luria and the development of the world psychological science' or 'A.R. Luria and the modern neuropsychology'). For example: Smith J. Abstracts for the conference 'A.R. Luria and the modern neuropsychology'. The name of the file should contain the last name and the initials of the authors (e.g. SmithJ or JohnsonR, MooreT). The file should contain two pages at least: abstracts on the first page and filled application form or forms on the second and subsequent pages (there should form for each of the participants). Application form you can find below. Application form must be filled for each of the authors.

Participation in the conference

The program committee offers the participation in the conference in the form of the oral presentation orposter presentation during the plenary and subject sessions. Also it is possible to publish the abstracts in the book of abstracts without making the presentation

The participants, whose presentations will be included in theplenary or subject sessions will receive an information about the date of their presentation before 30 June 2012.
