INTERNATIONAL GALPERIN MEMORIAL CONFERENCE

Dear Colleagues,
The year 2002 marks the centenary (100 years) of the birth of Piotr Yakovlevitch
Galperin (02/10/1902 - 25/03/1988). To commemorate the life and achievements of this
world-renowned psychologist, Moscow State University, in collaboration with the Russian
Academy of Sciences, the Russian Academy of Education, and the Russian Psychological
Association is proud to announce an International Memorial Conference. The International
Galperin Memorial Conference will be held from September 30th to October 2nd, 2002
in Moscow.
The Conference program will focus on the following main groups of program topics:
1. Galperin's ideas in relation to main trends of psychology in 21st century.
2. Gal'perin's system of psychology and main directions of its development (subject
matter of psychology, Galperin's understanding views of genesis, development, and
functions development of human mental activity, theory of stagewise formation of mental
actions).
3. Implementation of Gal'perin's ideas in different areas of societal practice
(education, health care, sport, industry, etc.)
4. Scientific biography of P. Ya. Galperin, the evolution of concepts and ideas.
Proposal and an abstract of up to 250 words in English or/and in Russian can be sent by
mail, fax or e-mail (e-mail is preferable). The deadline for the submission of proposals
is April 15, 2002; for the submission of abstracts, the deadline is June 30, 2002.
Proposals will be reviewed by the International Program Committee.
