Таким образом, наследственные дистонии представляют яркий пример решающего вклада, который вносят современные молекулярные технологии в систематизацию сложной группы наследственных заболеваний человека, развитие представлений об их этиологии и патогенезе, разработку наиболее совершенных подходов к диагностике, основанных на ДНК-анализе. Успехи молекулярной генетики приводят к постепенному внедрению в классификацию наследственных дистоний геномного принципа, что является общей закономерностью для всех наследственных заболеваний нервной системы. Исследование группы наследственных дистоний с использованием методов молекулярной медицины открывает реальные перспективы разработки и внедрения высокоэффективных патогенетических и этиологических методов лечения этих тяжелых страданий.
