Born: April, 6, 1950 in Pavlovskoe, Kalinin region.
Candidate of Chemistry (1984), Assistant Professor of the Chemical Technology Department of the Faculty of Chemistry (1988), Head of the MSU Preparatory School (1989), Pro-Rector - Head of the Office of Human Resources (2001).
He was awarded the Order of Friendship of Nations (1986), medals "For Valient Labour" (1976) и "For the 850th Anniversary of Moscow" (1997). He is also the USSR Ministry of Higher Education Prize laureate (1982).
Vladimir A. Mamontov graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of MSU after the service in the Soviet Army and the course at the MSU Preparatory School. He graduated from the University in 1977. After that he worked at the Faculty as an engineer, assistant, assistant lecturer, assistant professor.
The range of his scientific and academic interests covers risks estimation of chemical enterprises and working out the scientific basis of their safe functioning. Candidate thesis: "Physical and Chemical Studies of Thermal Dissociation of Calcium Sulfates".
He gives seminars and optional courses on efficiency of chemical enterprises and management of the technological risk to students and post-graduates of the Faculty of Chemistry. He takes an active part in organising the new enrolment to MSU.
Vladimir A. Mamontov is the author of more than 60 publications. He also possesses a number of author?s certificates for his inventions.
