27 июня 2004 года (четверг) в 15:40 в конференц-зале НМУ, Б. Власьевский, 11 состоится очередная лекция семинара Глобус «An introduction to cluster algebras». Лектор – Андрей Зелевинский (Northeastern University).

Cluster algebras are a class of commutative rings introduced by Sergey Fomin and myself in the Spring 2000. The original motivation behind them was to design an algebraic framework for the study of total positivity and canonical bases in semisimple groups. Since their inception, the intriguing connections emerged with a variety of subjects: Y-systems and thermodynamic Bethe ansatz, generalized associahedra, Poisson geometry and Teichmuller theory, quiver representations, to name a few. After introducing cluster algebras, I will discuss their main structural properties including the finite type classification which turns out to be completely parallel to the famous Cartan-Killing classification.
