Our SMC Research Group has been working in the supported
metal catalysts research area more then 20 years. Mainly, we investigate the
processes of catalysts preparation that can improve it performance. The objects
of our interest are the Ni, Co and Fe-containing supported catalysts based on various
oxides with high specific surface area (silica, alumina or zirconia).
These catalysts are widely used as catalysts of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, carbon
dioxide reforming of methane, and other reactions of C1-chemistry. We detect and
test a number of important magnetic properties of catalysts using our unique tools.
Primarily, we are focusing on the interactions between metal or metal oxide and support
to produce a catalyst with the narrow metal particle size distribution. We think,
that the catalysts as a unique system with all physical and chemical anomalities
of metal nanoparticles are quite visible.
