Assignments

1. Complete the 'Where Are You Now' survey (.pdf). It is designed to open conversation with your Technology or Spin-Off Development Manager. It will help you to identify areas of missing skills or knowledge as well as areas where additional assistance may be required.

2. Review your university's guidelines and prepare all the necessary documents to initiate your spin-off company.
   
   Specifically follow the steps outlined in: Overview of Spin-off Formation and Spin-Off Company Development.

3. Develop an outline (approximately 2-3 pages) for your strategic plan that briefly describes the following components:
   • vision statement
   • mission statement
   • strategic goals
   • priorities and strategic initiatives
   You can write this information out in bullet form if you prefer.
   You will develop a more detailed and lengthy strategic plan later on in the Module entitled: Writing a Business Plan
