The new proposals "From the Caspian to Mediterranean: Environmental Change and Human Response during the Quaternary" have been accepted. Estimated duration of the project is five years from 2013 to 2017. The project co-leaders are:
1. Prof. Dr. Dr. Valentina Yanko-Hombach (Ukraine, Canada) is a marine geologist and micropaleontologist), Ukraine, Canada) specializing in Quaternary stratigraphy and paleoenvironmental reconstructions for the “CORRIDOR” using foraminifera as the main tool. Geographically her expertise extends from the Eastern Mediterranean to the Black, Caspian, and Aral seas.
2. Prof. Dr. Nikolay Panin (Romania) is marine geologist and sedimentologist specializing in environmental geology (geo-ecology), climate, sea-level change, and Quaternary evolution of the Black Sea sedimentary system
3. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Celal Özdoğan (Turkey) is an archaeologist specializing in the Neolithic of the Near East and SE Europe
4. Prof. Dr. Olena Smyntyna (Ukraine) is an archaeologist specializing in the Late Paleolithic of the Northern Black Sea region and across the territory of Ukraine.
5. Prof. Dr. Tamara Yanina (Russia) - paleogeographer and malacologist) specializing especially in the Caspian part of the “CORRIDOR”.
