DEPARTMENT OF CHROMATOGRAPHY
LUDMILA A. BARATOVA
Head of Department, D. Sci.
Department of chromatography as scientific and methodical department of Institute provides support of chromatography stages in the investigations of macromolecules and their fragments, which are carried out at the Institute.
The main subject of our research work is studying the structural organization and functioning of biological macromolecules.
In collaboration with Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics of the RAS we developed a new tritium planigraphy method, which allows to study accessible surface and with its help to construct three dimensional structure of macromolecules and supramolecular systems.
The structural organization and expression of genome of Archaea are under investigation (Dr. V.K.Kagramanova and co-workers). The number of archaebacterial plasmids and operon of rRNA were studied.
The investigation of cell-cell contact interactions and their influence on cellular metabolism has been performed (Prof. L.B.Margolis and co-workers).
