Effectiveness of
the chemistry demonstrations in the course of general chemistry
Abstract
Chemical demonstrations play a significant
role in forming of different chemical conceptions. So, close studying of
chemical demonstrations leads to the ways of modification demonstrations. Study
of chemical demonstration’s effectiveness was cared out and its results are
discussed. Some factors, which are of a great importance for the results of the
demonstration, are marked out. The effectiveness of the demonstration was
determined using three parameters: how good the correspondence between
demonstration and chemical equation is established, how full the demonstration
is described and how correctly the aim of the demonstration is recognized by
the students. Also in the article the effectiveness of a number of experiments
and the ways of their modification are discussed.
