Born 14.06.1950 in Moscow, USSR. Graduated from Moscow State University, Biological faculty in 1973 with a diploma in zoology (Dept. Vertebrate Zoology).

1986 - Candidate of Science ( = Ph.D.) at the Zoological Institute USSR Acad. Sci., Leningrad. Dissertation: Energetics of behaviour of the Chaffinch in the breeding period. Scientific supervisor: professor Victor R. Dolnik.

Positions:

1973 -1989 ― junior  researcher, Biological Station Rybachy of the Zoological Institute

1989 ― present: junior researcher at Biological faculty of the Moscow State University (Dept. Vertebrate Zoology). Research fellow since 1993, senior research fellow since 2004.

Fields of scientific interest:

Population ecology, ecological energetics and behaviour of passerine birds. Favorite model species - Great Tit , Parus major and Pied Flycatcher, Ficedula hypoleuca.

Teaching experience:

1992 ― present:  summer practical training in 'terrestrial vertebrate zoology' (first- and second-year students); practical training in 'ecological physiology' (third - year students); diploma projects supervision.
