We used 15 juvenile toads Bufo americanus (the age was nearly 1-2 years old)

We used paper with the smell of Garter snakes, which were not fed

Results
P= p=0.17

Toad choice of compartments in the control experiment

Results
p=0.0001

Toad choice in compartments in the experiment with the presentce of the smell of Garter snake

conclusion
In our any side experiments toads didn't show preference for the left or right of the maze

We observed that juvenile toads rejected the place where the odor of the predator Garter snake was present

Discussion Juvenile toads afraid of the chemical stimuli of snakes, which could be dangerous for toads in their habitats We could assume that these chemical stimuli are perceived by means of olfaction
