The current article examines the problem of the critical demographic tendencies in European countries, including Russia. The author reveals the link between the critical demographic tendencies and such fundamental problems of modern society as egoism and infantilism. Is there a future for society based on egoism, social infantilism, individualism and unrestrained consumerism or it is doomed to extinction? The author of the article is trying to answer this question.
