The article proposes the classification of sociological views of Pitirim Sorokin in the context of conservative paradigma. The Sorokin's critics of progress theories is interpretated as the fundamental feature of his cyclical approach. The author suggests the reading of the fluctuations theory and the principle of limitness in Sorokin's work as the methodological substitute for the progress theory in the context of conservative attitude towards the socio-cultural problematics.
