Subject: [Noc-managers] New DPM release available in EPEL not compatible
with SAM monitoring
Date: Fri, 7 Nov 2014 18:36:47 +0100

Dear colleagues,

the DPM team released in EPEL a new version (v.1.8.9) which will
publish the WebDav endpoint in the information system.

This new feature is not compatible with the current SAM probe used to
test storage elements, as it is currently designed the probe will test
the WebDav endpoint with the SRM protocol. This will make the test
fail and affect site's availability.

The dCache product team responsible for the probe released promptly a
patch for it that will be made available with the SAM update 23. We
are planning to have the new SAM update available before the end of
the month.

Please, ask your sites to wait to have the new SAM update deployed in
production before upgrading to the latest DPM update from EPEL, if
they were planning to do so.

As usual, we recommend to wait for the release in UMD, since it will
be tested with the EGI monitoring.

Have a good week end.

Thanks

  Peter
