MSU hosts Moscow Olympiad in Biology

On February 7 the Faculty of Biology hosted the final round of Moscow Olympiad in biology, which was attended by more than 700 Moscow pupils of 5-8 forms. The Olympiad had different tasks for each form which formation was done by both the leading teachers and researchers of the Faculty of Biology and school teachers. The jury of the Olympiad consisted of post-graduate students and students of the Faculty of Biology. Also teachers of some specialized schools of Moscow and Timiryazev Museum staff worked in the jury. For parents who accompanied the children to the Olympiad, the professor of the Faculty of Biology, Doctor of Biological SciencesšV.A. Dubynin gave a lecture “Brain. Children. Parents”, which sparked considerable interest. For teachers of biology the associate professor of the department of vertebrate zoology, PhD V.A.Malygin gave the lecture. Parents and teachers were also acquainted with the information about other biology and ecology Olympiads, which are held at MSU.
