Nonlinear optics of surfaces, nanostructures and photonic crystals:

• second-, third- and fourth-harmonic generation from surfaces, nanostructures and photonic crystals;
• giant second-harmonic generation (SHG) and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS);
• DC-electric-field induced SHG (EFISH) and magnetization-induced SHG (NOMOKE);
• hyper-Rayleigh scattering in ultra thin inhomogeneous films;
• nonlinear optical studies of low-dimensional ferroelectricity, magnetism and phase transitions.
