«Schlumberger» company announce about program of grants for aspirants in Russia. Grants are from $ 1000 to $ 2000 per year paid via CRDF, renewable for up to 3 years, upon recommendation of the supervising professor. There is no limitation on topics, nor a requirement to work on a "Schlumberger project"; no contract to sign; only obligation is to report in writing, in English, at the end of each year on the progress of the research. Applications should be sent before May 31st 2002 to C. Besson, by email at cbesson@slb.com; they should contain a CV, a 2 pages description of the research, approved by the proposed supervisor, and a recommendation (other than the supervisor). Among the some will be selected for interview with Schlumberger finally 5 grants will be awarded on 1st July 2002, with payments beginning in October 2002. proposed letter of proposals, staff, and quarterly

Selection and award are entirely at the discretion of Schlumberger. The proposals will be used only for internal review by Schlumberger staff, but cannot be considered as confidential material.
