     Currently my research activities are under the supervision of prof. Potemkin I.I. In our theoretical group we study different problems of polymer theory. During my master studies I was dealing with the problems of microphase separation transition in the melts of double comb (or double-grafted) copolymers. The results published in articles in JCP and Polymer Science(see the list of publications). The most interesting result we have found in this system is the following: the increase in non-uniformity of distribution of side chains in comb copolymers leads to shrinkage of homogenious region on the phase diagram, i.e. the ability to form nanostructures is enhanced.

     Currently we are trying to estimate the stability limits of Janus structures in solutions of mixture of diblock copolymers (see picture below). We have managed to find the stability regions of the mixed micelles in the mixtures of AB and BC diblock copolymers in selective solvents and proved that Janus micelles are unstable in this system. Our guess now is to consider the mixture AB and CD diblock copolymers in order to make the Januses stable by including the additional attraction in the core of the micelle. Our first idea of a core as a polyelectrolyte complex led to the derivation of new Debye-Hueckel type theory for mixture of polyanions and polycations, which is more accurate than currently used "smeared" charge model.
