AbstractKeypoints detection and descriptors construction method based on multiscale Laguerre-Gauss circular harmonic functions expansions is considered. Its efficient acceleration procedure is introduced. Two acceleration ideas are used. The first idea is based on the interconnection between Laguerre-Gauss circular harmonic functions system and 2D Hermite functions system. The further acceleration is based onthe original fast Hermite projection method. The comparison tests with SIFT algorithm were performed. The proposed method can be additionally enhanced and optimized. Nevertheless even preliminary investigation showed promising results.
