The educational programme aims to prepare the graduates for activities requiring in-depth fundamental and professional knowledge, including research in applied mathematics and computer technology, development and use of mathematical models for processes and objects, development and application of advanced mathematical methods and software to address problems in science, technology, economics and management. The Mathematical and Computational Methods of Image Processing Master?s programme is aimed at training professionals in image processing, computer vision and computer graphics algorithms as well as in applied information technologies. The course includes developing software for image and video analysis, processing and synthesis, algorithms for photorealistic and interactive image synthesis, compression technologies, methods for analysis and processing of video data and other multimedia information, computer vision, image recognition, and digital signal processing.
The master program aims at training professionals in the field of image processing, computer vision, and computer graphics algorithms and applied technologies. The program consists of educational courses, a seminar, and laboratory works.
In the course of the program students are taught algorithms for photorealistic and interactive image synthesis; compression technologies; methods for analysis and processing of video data and other multimedia information; computer vision and image recognition; digital signal processing.
Our modern means of Internet support for the learning process increase the effectiveness of education. Our website was among the winners of the Russian Federation Ministry of Education?s award. It includes an automated system for online course support, online library, and online research and educational magazine. The website provides access for lecture materials, practical exercises, and personal grade system. It has a system for student registration, submission of the course assignments, assignment grading with electronic spreadsheets and student ratings; and a forum.
Annual reports and diploma theses are usually centered on real practical tasks. The program gives a good basis for successful practical activity in the field of computer graphics, computer vision, and multimedia data processing.
