Academic Calendar

Fall Semester
Registration: August 20 - September 1
Classes commence on September 1
Final Tests: December 01 - 25
Final Examinations: January 03 - 25

Spring Semester
Classes commence on February 7
Final Tests: May 05 - 25
Final Examination: June 01 - 25

Grading system:

Examinations
Grades range from 1 to 5.
5 - excellent,
4 - good,
3 - satisfactory,
1 and 2 both are unsatisfactory.
Tests
Tests (credits) are not graded. Students receive an evaluation of “pass” or “fail”. Students must pass all tests before taking the examinations.

University Fees.

Expenses are estimated as follows:

• Preparatory Russian language course and major subjects at CIE from September to June (see table below).
• Tuition fees at the Faculty (see table below).
• Accommodation in student dormitories from $165 per month (depending on living conditions).
• Medical Insurance at University Polyclinics (mandatory) – $130 per year.
• Transport. A student pass for all kinds of public transport (except subway) costs $15 per month.
• Text-books from the University libraries are available for free.

Please note that there are no scholarships available for international students.
