The hostel is considered the best at Moscow State University. It is located in the student’s home at Vernadskogo. One of its main advantages is a convenient location; the hostel is close to the metro station “Prospect Vernadskogo”, in a short drive from the University. Aside from the campus, located in the territory of the Moscow State University, a student’s home at Vernadskogo is located nearest to MSU, then others hostels. Accommodation in a comfortable area in the southwest of the capital creates for students excellent conditions for study and recreation. There is an opportunity to practice various sports. The hostel is next to the football, hockey, basketball and volleyball courts, and a football field with artificial turf. Near the hostel are many shops, in fifteen minutes of walking – shopping center “Auchan Capitol.” Near the metro station “Prospect Vernadskogo” is a park 50 years of October, which is always quiet, not crowded, there is a pond and a river near which you can spend a pleasant time. Besides its convenient location, the student’s home at Vernadskogo features a more comfortable compared to other hostels accommodation. It can be related to block-type hostel: students live in blocks (3 to 10 people in each) consisting of 2-4 rooms (double and triple). Each block has a separate bathroom. On the ground floor of the hostel is a canteen, located near the club of the student’s home at Vernadskogo, which hosts a variety of activities, sports dance training section. On the 9th floor is a gym. On the 18th is a computer class (for students who do not have a computer). In general, in every room held the Internet. Students of the Faculty of Global Studies hold 13th floor of the hostel (14 blocks) and part of the 19th floor. Students live in good conditions (in the room – from 1 to 3 people). In spite of ever-increasing number of people living in a hostel and the forced policy of “sealing” of the Office of hostel of the Moscow State University, students of the Faculty of Global Studies were not affected, through the efforts of the dean’s office. Students, living in triple rooms, to improve the living conditions, was supported by the Faculty – the bunk beds were purchased. Since 2009 every summer, Faculty conducts capital repairs of blocks: entirely replaced communications and equipment, and redecorating of the rooms. As a whole, in general opinion of students, settling in student’s home at Vernadskogo is “lucky lottery ticket.” We can only hope that the students of the Faculty of Global Studies in the future will be staying in this hostel.
