What is causing the South Carolina flooding
We’ve heard a lot about the flooding that’s beentaking place in South Carolina the past few days. I thoughtwe’d take a closer look at what exactly is happening.
First off, you have Hurricane Joaquin, which a few days ago was afew miles per hour away from being a Category 5 storm and is weakening as it movesfurther out into the Atlantic.
The rainin the southeast isn’t coming directly fromJoaquin. Buta secondary area of low pressure developedaround Florida. This low, spinning counter clockwise, sat there,pulled in all this moisture drawn up by Joaquin, and dumped iton South Carolina.
