David Van Slyke
Ph.D., Louis A. Bantle Chair in Business and Government Policy and Professor of Public Administration and International Affairs, The Maxwell School of Syracuse University; professor, Maastricht Graduate School of Governance; Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration (USA).
Dr. Van Slyke is a recipient of the 2007 Beryl Radin Award for Best Article published in the "Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory".
Dr. Van Slyke’s research focuses on the problems of government contracting, public-private partnerships, government-business relationships, strategic management, policy implementation, and nonprofit management. Dr. Van Slyke is actively engaged in research in Maxwell School and works with senior government officials, NGO and business leadrs in China, India, Peru, Paraguay, Singapore, Thailand and other countries.
Professor Van Slyke is also actively engaged in executive training and works with a number of national and professional associations, such as the National League of Cities. He served on the Public Management Research Association (PMRA) Board of Directors from 2007–2011 and served as the 2011 PMRA Conference Chair. He also serves on several nonprofit and private boards, and is actively engaged in his professional and local community.
Dr. Van Slyke serves on several editorial boards including the "Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory", "American Review of Public Administration", "Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly", and the "Journal of Public Affairs Education".
