Modern Approaches to the Adaptation of Top Officials to New Positions in Public Service

In the conditions of improvement of system of public administration the question of introduction of effective technologies and modern methods of personnel work into public service practice of the Russian Federation becomes especially urgent. The author considers four aspects of adaptation: social, organizational, professional and psychophysiological, which federal civil servants face at appointment to a vacant post. Four stages of the process of adaptation are considered. Special attention is paid to adaptation problems, which the participants of a reserve of the Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga federal district face.
