For the Bolshevik party in the early 1920s propaganda was not only an instrument of political education, but also a powerful tool of manipulation. The article analyzes the propaganda technology of the RKP(b) in the rural areas called the “Peasant’s week”, which was created by E.A. Preobrazhensky, one of the secretaries of the Central Committee of the party. The “Peasant’s week” was developed as a large-scale public company, aimed at raising the authority of the party in the peasant society. The article examines the theoretical framework of national mechanisms for the event. Examining the material devoted to the “Peasant’s week” the authors conclude that the content line of the project of E.A. Preobrazhensky was based on the work of urban proletariat in the countryside. It was the most important instrument of Soviet propaganda in the conditions of the Civil War and the policy of “war communism”.
