The article examines the public service training systems in post-soviet countries. It concentrates on the following issues: regulated types of training, organizational arrangements, requirements to funding level and training frequency. Legal acts regulating public service in the post-soviet countries differ significantly. Some of them provide comprehensive framework for the training and professional development of public servants, but others don’t. There is no common notion of training: legal acts on public service regulate different types of training and development. The state order is a widespread arrangement. At the same time public service training system is highly decentralized in some countries. Establishing the requirements to funding level is not a common feature. The requirements to training frequency is often stipulated by the law on public service.
