The article proposesa conceptual approachto the formation ofselectiveregional policyas a separatetype ofregional policy,includingthe definition of "selective regional policy" and classification of its types concerning theobject and the nature of the electiveimpact of the stateon regional development.The classification of selectiveregional policy` instruments allows to determine thelimiting and stimulatingeffects ofthe electiveimpact of the state on the endogenous and exogenoustypesof regional developmentin organizational methods of regional policy.
